Press Release September 21, 2014
Weed Elementary School is planning to reopen on Tuesday, September 23 with some specific safety conditions in place until they are no longer needed.
Traffic to and from school will continue to be restricted until approximately October 1, 2014. Families will need to plan to work around these restrictions.
STUDENTS/PARENTS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO WALK TO SCHOOL DUE TO POSSIBLE SAFETY CONCERNS IN AREAS AROUND THE SCHOOL.
The road to WES will be open for parents and staff between 7:30-8:30 a.m. for drop off/arrival and 2:15-3:30 p.m. for after school pick up, please use South Davis (School Hill).
SAFE after school program will be open; pick up will only be between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m.
Bus routes will remain the same, except there will be no stops in damaged areas of town (Lobis Field, N. Davis, California Street, and Morris and Pine). A stop will be added at the Mercantile at approximately 7:45 a.m.
WES office staff members, Darcy and Terry, plan to contact every family individually by phone on Monday, September 22 to provide information and answer questions. If you are a WES parent and your contact information has changed please use this press release for direction, use the school website, call (938-2715), or establish contact with another WES family.
Power, water, fire alarms, the Internet, and the school phone, 938-2715, are working.
Plans for volleyball and cross-country teams are under development and will be communicated with students and families once they are established.
Our school district greatly appreciates the tremendous amount of support we have received as we work to adjust to these changes.
